minutes...

I've got four minutes left in my work day. Today has gone by so fast. I know I'm leaving this job and this phase in my life soon, and I've basically turned into a zombie. Yesterday I used my spare key to drive my car around, because I couldn't find my real keys. I left the car unlocked with the key in the ignition at my house. It's a small town.

So later, I went to my car and couldn't find the spare key that I thought I'd left in the ignition. Well, after searching around for 30 minutes or so, I looked in the place that I keep my spare key. There it was. I had put it back in it's secret spot without even knowing it. Purely mechanical, and it required no mental processing worthy of my long-term memory. It's pretty amazing that my body and my mind can do something like that and later have no recollection of it. I don't just keep my key on my table or anything like that either. It's a pretty involved process.

That basically sums up my performance at work these days. I wasn't always so unfocused. I'm just so excited about so many other things that the mundane parts of my life have become secondary to my thoughts. I'm so happy to be getting married. I'm so lucky.

5:00 pm. That's it. I hope Nikki's waiting outside for me.
